DIGITAL COLLAGE DESIGN

With the limited and specific images provided by Mr Fauzi, I had to utilise the masking layers, colour editing and effect gallery to give some variation to my collage.

Composition #1
Played with masking layer for the fish image as I just want its silhouette. Then, I dabbled in the effect gallery to create a texture for the fish and tweaked its hue to an orangish one.

Composition #2
Sliced the window planes of a building image into small pieces and warped them to form a wave shape. The warp tool is definitely a fun tool to play with.

Composition #3
The concept for this collage started off from wanting to have a one point perspective.

FINAL OUTCOME

Proceeded with composition #2 and played with adjustment layers. I focused on bringing in a more dramatic feeling and making the focal point more obvious by pumping up the contrast and lowering the brightness on the edges of the image, creating a vignette.

REFLECTION

I was able to think of more creative methods to manipulate the images when we were only limited to a folder of images. Initially, the images available did not interest me at all because to me, they were just floors, buildings and fishes but this exercise forced me to explore out of my comfort zone and discover how fun adjustment layers can be.
