Tweaking the volume for each voice and sound effects are quite crucial to ensure they all blend in well with the actions of the characters/ environment.

iii. First draft- 'Soul' audio dubbing

I forgot to meow 2 more times and my volume for certain sound is either too quiet/loud. Thus, I fixed it for the final submission.

Exercise 2: Sound Shaping with EQ

We were required to play with EQ and reverb to create the sound for the following 4 locations.

Fig 3.1 Exercise brief, 24 October 2022

It was actually not that easy to control the reverb settings to achieve the type of echo I want in each location. I had to re-listen the audio again and again as if it's my first time listening to it so that I will have a clear judgement.

REFLECTION

I cannot believe that I was hiding in my room, doing voice acting for a cat's meow, praying that no one in my house hears it. Jokes aside, voice-acting is a really fun thing to do and I have always wanted to try it. I got to know more audio effects for changing the pitch of a voice. It is also useful to put theories into practice in this exercise for the movie Soul. It was quite time-consuming to sync the voice to the mouths though.
