TASK

A3- A4: Character Poses Sheets
I decided to portray my character in two different categories of poses and expressions which are attack poses and idle poses. Most of the expressions I worked on did not fit into the poses I drew, thus, I had to draw an extra set of different expressions that would suit the poses.

i) Bust expressions

ii) Full body poses

A5: Character Outfits

In another term, character skins.

iii) Outfit studies
- Bring out the character's personality through the outfit
- Some skins do not necessarily have to relate to Genshin narrative, think of special events/ the selling point of the skin
- Each skin has its own theme (further explained in the submission slides) so I would have a clear direction for each outfit design

iv) Weapon designs
I started with 5 designs but narrowed it down to 3 that felt more visually appealing to me.

FEEDBACK

Week 11
- #3 hair colour provided contrast with the assemble, which can be implemented in #4 if I plan to progress with that

Week 7
- For the pose references, exaggerate the line of action more, make it less stiff
- Design some idle poses, keeping in mind the feral and feminine aspect of the character, you can do some visual research on Razor, Scaramouche and Xin Yan
- For the facial expressions, arch the eyebrows more to show exaggeration as well

REFLECTION

This task contains a larger and more complex workload but is also the stage where I feel my character is coming alive more. It is quite satisfying to look back at the number of designs created to build my character's visual appearance that relates back to the lore. One thing I have to keep in mind more is to exaggerate facial expressions more by playing with the size of the eyes as well as the arch of the mouth. For the dynamic poses, I could benefit by practising loose fluid gesture lines more often to prevent being so rigid in creating poses.
